Perplexed, but not despair.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair.

(2 Corinthians 4:8)

She doesn’t know where else to go, and she doesn’t know what else to do. All roads seemed closed to her. According to the doctor, she had been suffering from chronic tuberculosis infection for a long time. So far, the symptoms are not felt because her immune system is still good. But now, advanced age made her body no longer strong enough to fight. Her lungs are old, most areas of the lungs are no longer elastic. There was nothing else that could be done, not even oral medication, because her frail body couldn’t accept the side effects of the medicine she was taking. Only mercy and miracles from God that she is currently waiting for. Only one prayer, may God keep her faith and give her the strength to go through it all.

Elderly, sometimes God allows difficult situations to come into our lives, and no matter how hard we try, there seems to be only a dead end. The Apostle Paul also experienced a situation like that when he walked with God in the ministry he was doing. From many sides he experienced oppression until he was pinned down and lost his mind, did not know what to do anymore, but he never stopped hoping. He believes that God who saves will also protect him.

PRAYER:

When all our paths are closed, give us the courage to keep believing and hope that You, Lord, are still with us. Amen.
